What is an Electronic Travel authorization(eTa) ?

An Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air ?

What is the difference between eTA and visa Canada ?

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) allows foreign nationals from visa-exempted countries to enter Canada without a visa. While a Temporary Resident Visas (TRVs), commonly called entry visas, are to be obtained by foreign nationals who require visas to enter Canada.

ETA is a multiple entry document, You can stay up to six months per a single entry.Should you wish to stay longer than 6 months for any other purposes you may need to contact your local Canadian embassy for a TRV visa( valid for 10 years or until the passport expires).

What documents do you need for an eTA ?

To apply you must have a valid passport from a visa-exempt country, a valid credit and an email address. It costs $49.99 CAD to get an eTA and only takes a few minutes to apply. Approved eTAs are valid for up to five years.

How long does it take to get an eTA for Canada ?

Most applications are approved within minutes but some can take longer. You may need to submit additional documents before your application can be approved. If this happens to you, an email will be sent with instructions within 72 hours.

How long does an eTA is valid for ?

Once approved, your eTA is valid for five years or until your passport expires – whichever comes first. You can come to Canada as many times as you wish as long as your eTA remains valid. You can stay up to six months per a single entry.

Will I get an email if my eTa is approved ?

Yes. When your eTA is approved, you will receive aconfirmation email with a copy of your approval. You will also receive an email if we need more information to process your application or if your eTA has been denied. Please make sure to check your email junk/spam folders if you cannot locate it in your inbox.

Do I need a hard copy of my eta ?

No. An eTA is electronically linked to your passport. You will need to travel with the passport you used to apply for your eTA. You don't need to print out any special document. The airline staff will scan your passport to confirm that you have a valid eTA. If you don't have one, you won't be able to board your flight.

Do I need a new eTA if I renew my passport ?

If you get a new passport, you will need to get a new eTA. Your eTA is electronically linked to your passport.

How long before I travel should I apply for an eta ?

It's best to get an eTA before you book your flight to Canada. Most applicants get their eTA approval (via an email) within minutes. However, some requests can take several days to process if you're asked to submit supporting documents.

How long do you need on your passport to travel to Canada ?

If you are visiting Canada, your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay. However, it is recommended to have a remaining validity period of at least 6 months before the day you travel.

How to get a new copy of my eta approval? My eta number ?

You'll be notified by email when your eTA is approved. The approval email includes your eTA number. Keep this number in case you need to contact us or want to check the status of your eTA in the future.

What if I lost my email with eTA number ?

In case you deleted the email with your eTA number, lost the data you submitted or want to receive your confirmation email again, it is no problem for us to retrieve your data and send it back to you. You can retrieve your application approval by sending an email (email address) providing your passport number, full name and Order ID to our customer service department. Please contact us if you need any information a second time.

Can I travel without eTA? Or if eTa is under review ?

NO. The airline staff will scan your passport to confirm that you have a valid eTA. If you do not have one, you won't be able to board your flight.

As a Canadian citizen, Can I apply for an eta ?

No. Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, cannot apply for an eTA to enter Canada. You will need a valid Canadian passport to board your flight to Canada.

If flying in less than 10 days or at the airport without a Canadian passport; You can apply for a special authorization that, if approved, will allow you to board your flight with your valid non-Canadian passport.

As Canadian permanent resident, can I apply for an eTa ?

No. By law, Canadian permanent residents, cannot apply for an eTA. Canadian permanent residents are required to present a valid Canadian permanent resident card or a permanent resident travel document when travelling to Canada.

Can I cancel my order and get a refund ?

All refund request should be done by email at support@travelcanada-eta.online.

1. If eta application has already been processed by our department, the amount will not be refunded in full as you will be charged for the administration and official processing system fee.

Why would an eTA be denied ?

Although we do not know the precise reason for denial, our experience shows the following circumstances that may cause an eTA rejection: Providing a passport number that was reported lost or stolen. Having overstayed in Canada on a previous visit. A previous visa denial.
